Complete the essay task ‘Compare and contrast the use of melody and rhythm in Corelli, Haydn and Beethoven set works’.
You must hand in your essay with the cover sheet ready for a peer-marking exercise after half term.
HAND IN FIRST TUESDAY AFTER HALF TERM
In the Purcell folder on Moodle (here – requires log in) read documents 03, 07 and 08 then briefly answer the following questions (I will take these in):
- In what genres did Purcell mostly compose?
- In what ways was Purcell an old-fashioned or conservative composer
- Explain the ‘Second Practice’
Complete Worksheet 07 (FP3) in your Booklets (both the questions and the exercises).
Use the musical models chosen last lesson to generate ideas for your composition.
Compose your initial idea, ensuring that you have around 40 seconds of music ready for the first lesson after half term (7 November).
** COMPOSING WORKSHOPS WILL START AFTER HALF TERM, EVERY TUESDAY 4-5pm
