Now please improve and expand your 32-bar song.  You can add an introductory (sectional) verse, turn it into a duet, orchestrate it, expand the B or returning A of the AABA itself.

Performance and Composition Planning (Monday 10th July)

Please complete the planners given out in class. The compostion planner is available for download here but if you lose the performance one you will have to ask me for a new one as they are personalized.

Homework Year 12 w/c 19th June

C20 Composition Homework (upload to Moodle by end of Friday 16th June)
Please complete 6-12 bars of music based on a whole-tone scale.

  • Stuff on whole-tone scales is here
  • You can base your texture on one of these string quartets or you could look through some of the more adventurous textures on Moodle – either orchestral examples OR the general narrative music examples a bit further down

Musical Theatre Composition Homework (upload to Moodle by end of Friday 23rd June) – continued from last week
Please complete a piece in 32-bar song form according to this brief. The idea is to do the basic 32-bar song for this deadline and then expand it in the next couple of weeks.

Debussy
Please make sure that your full score has the same section information in it as the piano score.
