Iconic and passionate oboe melody from Tchaikovsky’s famous ballet. Notice the restrained intensity of the string and harp accompaniment at the beginning and then the explosion of energy at figure 1 where the melody is blasted out by the horns while the divisi string continue to tremolo reinforced by the woodwind.
