Glazunov, The Seasons

A lively and very busy tutti accompaniment with melody in the strings doubled by flutes and clarinets. This looks very complicated but there are fewer elements than you think:

• Melody doubled in strings etc.
• Rhythmic repeated chords in woodwind and brass
• Bassline in horns, bassoons and double bass
• At the very beginning before the tune starts the bassoons play an extra repeated figure (you would need to be careful adding this as you could easily break your texture with dissonances). Notice that this stops once the melody begins.
