I will take in composition again NEXT week on Monday 10th March along with an updated feedback form outlining your progress so far in making improvements.

2. Read the information in your Webern pack ready for next lesson when we will look at other features

AS (D) Homework set w/c 3rd March

AS performances are THIS WEEK

[This is the group that has TOM for composition]

Composition

By the end of Tuesday 11th March I would like

  • your composition
  • your feedback sheet from half term with updates on what you have done (on half term submission on Moodle)
  • your updated influences tracker sheet
  • a Question 2 pro forma (see on Moodle)

Instrumental

Essay: “Identify features of the Brahms that are typical of the Romantic era”. You should read through the notes on Moodle first (http://moodle1.kedst.ac.uk/mod/folder/view.php?id=33389) as well as looking through your own notes and annotated anthology. You will be looking to identify features that are typical but also acknowledging some of Brahms’ more conservative instincts (i.e. form and genre, use of counterpoint).

Harmony

Finish Cadence Worksheet 14 and Basic Theory Worksheet 4

Vocal

No homework this week but I recommend that you read your Stravinsky notes and listen through with your score.
